It's a Tuesday and I'm sitting at home taking it easy. Since I worked Saturday, I was given today off in exchange. I have a few errands to run, but that won't happen until it cools down a bit. I went ahead and moved my layout images to a different site, and then re-opened my flickr account. I never had many photos on photobucket. I had saved a lot of them directly to livejournal. But from now on, I want to save everything to flickr.
Still struggling with conjunctivitis. What the heck, now. It's been a month. It's mostly just the corners of my eyes, so it's been improving, but I don't want to have to go to the doctors a third time. We also seem to have gotten the bug issue under control. Still bug-bite free, save for those pesky mosquitoes!
In the end, I ended up buying another one of the futons I had bought the first time. I realized that the futon was thicker than most futon mattresses, so using two futons would be thicker and result in better sleep when stacked one on top of the other. Then, whenever Ryu came to stay over, I could simply separate the two and put them side by side, so we'd both have plenty of sleeping room. He seemed really happy with my decision, ruffled my hair and congratulated me on sometimes
having good ideas (lol).
He even decided that we had to "go at it" twice because now both futons had to be "broken in," but I had no complaints with that 〃゜∀゜ゞ
After going to buy his Jinbei, we decided to grab a couple of drinks at the コンビニ and enjoy them at home by the fan as we watched S -- 最後の警官
, which came out in 2014, with a movie released in 2015. He'd seen the drama, but not the movie, and I hadn't seen either, so it was a good choice for both of us. But now after we watch the movie next weekend, we'll have to pick another series to watch. Anyway, I'm not big on alcohol anymore, and never grab more than two drinks a month. We had drinks at Hardrock for our anniversary, so for our last drink of the month, Ryu had a Smirnoff and I had a perfectly sweetened Apricot cocktail. It was only 3% but boy did it make me sleepy!
We checked out what festivals will be going on in our area. There are bigger festivals going on farther away from home and we've decided to go to some of those firework shows, but we want to try and stay local this time around, since the weather feels so much hotter this year. We want to try to go to all of them, but we aren't sure if that's do-able just yet. Now that Ryu has a jinbei though, he's all for hitting the まつり scene, and more than willing to try hitting them all. The fireworks show on the 30th is actually within walking distance of my flat, so we're definitely going to that, even though we can watch it from the veranda.
The thing with the new layout of my room is that now, my bed rests right next to my bookshelf. It means I spend a lot more time reading than I used to, since books are only an arms reach away. Grab a bottle of water, switch on the fan, lay down and lose myself for hours. I thought that my weight would probably go up from lack of exercise, but on the contrary, I've been eating less through out the week, but really chowing down on the weekends and my body has been reacting to it in an odd way. Yesterday alone, Ryu and I had a serving of pasta, a slice of pizza, nuggets, fries, and some ice cream. We did nothing but lay in bed all day as I mentioned, aside from that. And this morning, I weighed 1kg lighter than I did at the start of the weekend. Luck. Okay, rewind. I spend more time reading than I used to. Between today and yesterday, I bruned through A Walk to Remember
, which surprised me by being quite different from the movie I had grown up loving. Next will be some Japanese manga for language balance, then either Wicked
or P.S. I love you
. Easy reads, but I can't be too picky, since English books in my area are limited.
Sometimes I wish I had a book-daddy to just hand me random books and say "Read this," then discuss them with me. Most of my friends don't read, and the one that does is mostly in to Junior level sci-fi things I can never seem to get in to. A girl can dream.
